How a relationship ends is what many clients remember. A short checklist makes every ending professional.

Close it out

  • Send the final invoice and confirm the last payment.
  • Return or hand over the client's files and passwords they own.
  • Remove your access to their accounts, and theirs to yours.
  • Confirm in writing that the work is complete.
  • Ask for feedback or a testimonial, if the relationship was good.
  • Archive the file under your retention schedule.

Our offboarding checklist walks through each step.
