Managing expert deadlines and invoices

Experts work on their own schedules and bill on their own terms. One list of every expert, with report dates, deposition dates and invoices, keeps the case on time and the costs clear.

Counsel chooses and directs experts. Support staff keep track of the dates and the paperwork, so nothing is missed when the disclosure deadline arrives.

For each expert, track

  • The matter, name and specialty.
  • The date retained and the retainer paid.
  • The date the report is due under the case schedule or counsel's request.
  • Deposition dates, and who pays the expert's time for them.
  • Every invoice received and paid.

Work back from the order

Case management orders often set expert disclosure dates. Counsel sets the internal dates: when records go to the expert, when a draft is expected, when the final report is due.

Keep costs together

Expert fees are often the largest case cost. Log each invoice in the case cost ledger as it arrives.

Our expert tracker shows every expert's next date.
