Setting a yearly revenue goal for one truck

Start with what you want to take home, add the costs, and work backward to the revenue and miles each week needs.

A goal turns into a plan when you know the weekly numbers it takes.

Work backward

  • Take-home goal for the year.
  • Fixed costs: payments, insurance, permits.
  • Cost per mile for fuel, maintenance and tires.
  • Weeks you will actually work.

Check it against your lanes

Divide the revenue needed by the miles you can run. If the rate per mile is above what your lanes pay, adjust the plan: more miles, better lanes or lower costs.

Our revenue goal planner does the math.
