Fuel advances and cash advances: tracking what drivers owe

Advances help drivers on the road, but untracked advances cause settlement disputes. A simple log by driver, deducted on the next settlement, keeps it clean.

Carriers and dispatchers often advance money for fuel, lumpers or emergencies through fuel cards or money codes. The agreement should say how advances are repaid.

Log every advance

  • Date, driver, amount and reason.
  • The code or card used, and any fee.
  • The settlement it was deducted from.

Deduct and show it

List each advance as its own line on the settlement statement, so the driver can match it.

Our advance log tracks what is open by driver.
